A Note to scholars, collectors, curators, and enthusiasts:

The purpose of this note is to place myself and my resources at your disposal. As a scholar in Asmat Art and Culture, we work closely with the Americam Museum of Asmat Art, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, the Asmat Museum of Culture and Progress, the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art and others, as it relates to matters Asmat.

Our library of Asmat material, including monographs, articles, books, video, photographs and a collection of more than 2,000 objects rivals any in North America. We also maintain very close dialog with other of the world's top experts in the fields of Asmat art and anthropology. Our efforts in this regard are mostly altruistic and I would be delighted to be of whatever service I may. The curatorial world of Asmat is filled with pitfalls of misplaced or misunderstood provenance and the Asmat name has been often applied to works from other cultures. This is a particular area of my concern -- to assist in any way I can to diminish the spread of mis-information about the Asmat.

Please feel free to write or call, we are at your service to further the public understanding of this wonderful people, their art and their culture. We hope that you find our website as an academic resource as well.
